MILESTONE DECLARATIONS

The Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum was formally created in Tokyo in January 1993. Fifty-nine parliamentarians from fifteen nations adopted the founding charter of the organization, which was called "The Tokyo Declaration". This Declaration sets up the objectives and activities of the APPF as well as its guiding principles, the requirements for membership and participation, and the basic administrative structure.

Likewise, in January 1997, during the V APPF Annual Meeting in Vancouver, Canada, the Meeting adopted another essential document to understand the vision of this inter-parliamentary organization with regards to its goals and role in the forthcoming century: "The Vancouver Declaration".

Both Declarations are the milestone documents of the APPF, and those who would like to understand the nature and purpose of the Forum must study them in detail, so you are welcome to read them in their complete versions shown below.
